Role Type:       Permanent, Full Time

This is a key role which will support the business by controlling our PLM system and supporting the administration requirements of the Engineering department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support day to day PLM operations including but not limited to: setting up new accounts, assisting users, uploading documents and troubleshooting. Undertake regular maintenance of Teamcenter (TC) and, with specific system training, support customisations. Maintain the TC Server by managing the server cache. Be the first responder for users’ TC problems (UK and oversees (during UK office hours)). Provide PLM Support with regards to corporate requirements for record keeping relating to our CAD systems. Support software updates and install TC/CAD software onto new computers, as required.
  • Review of documentation for issue to ensure that appropriate paper work has been fully completed (Including Engineering and Manufacturing Eng., Document Change Requests, ensuring they are completed correctly and are then filed in TeamCenter and required parties are given the updated drawing/documents, paper prints, if required.)
  • Engineering procedure maintenance: working with engineering staff ensure that engineering procedures and guidelines on the Business Management System are correct and efficient.
  • Reporting support to engineering staff:

o Review and correction/improvement of format, grammar and spelling of engineering report/documents

o Presenting engineering data in useful charts (e.g. using MS Excel).

o Producing high standard presentations (e.g. in MS Powerpoint) from supplied engineering information.

o Generating new boiler plate documents for compliance matrices, technical proposals, etc., based around supplied customer specifications, including data input into those documents.

  • Export control checking for correct classification and marking of drawings, external documentation, etc.
  • Maintenance of the document registers and issuing of new document numbers.
  • Maintaining the Engineering Archive, storing archived documents/hardware, indexing, retrieving legacy documents/hardware, as requested.
  • Maintaining all specifications and standards internal or external. Such as, customer specifications, BSI/ISO, SAE, ASTM etc.
  • Maintaining data sources, such as, BSI portal, SAE portal.
  • Conducting the monthly office health and safety audit.
  • Responsible for the correct use and safe keeping of all office equipment.
  • General administration including but not limited to: Ordering and arranging delivery of stationary and maintenance of equipment. Ordering ad hoc items with Company credit card, reconciling invoices when received. Printing, stamping and issuing Engineering and Manufacturing documents. Any other admin support to the department.
  • Identify 5S needs and leading 5S activities to improve department efficiency.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Essential

  • Background or relevant experience in office administration and also managing information systems, such as product lifecycle, product data and document configuration control.
  • Experience with MS Office applications particularly MS Word, Access (database) and Excel.
  • Self-reliant nature and able to use initiative, with strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • An outstanding aptitude for learning coupled with the desire to do so.

Desirable

  • A qualification in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Maths, Business, Information Technology, Information Systems or Information Management would be highly advantageous.
  • Previous use of Siemens Teamcenter or a similar PLM system would be a significant
  • Experience in testing and modifying information systems/technology improve their functionality, and to ensure that they operate reliably, would set the candidate apart from others.
  • Evidence of automating Engineering processes and/or creating digital workflows (for example electronic signatures) would be well received.
