Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager – Farnborough
Who are we:
Auxitrol Weston Operating Unit (OU) consists of 3 manufacturing plants, Auxitrol SAS (France), Weston Aerospace Ltd (UK), Auxitrol Weston (Mexico), with 3 R&D departments in France, UK and Norwich Aero Products Inc (US) along with 4 repair capabilities in France, UK, US & Singapore.
Weston Aerospace Ltd has approximately 188 employees at Farnborough whose responsibilities are to design and manufacture temperature, speed and pressure sensors for gas turbine and airframe applications.
We have extensive environmental test facilities to verify our products’ performance, replicating and exceeding hostile operating conditions.
We have another smaller manufacturing site dedicated to analogue indicators, based in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire with 14 employees.
Role & Job Summary:
The Facilities & Health & Safety Manager ensures safe working practices across the site and full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental legislation. The role maintains oversight of facilities operations, preventative and reactive maintenance, and environmental programs. The postholder reports to the Operations Manager & Site Director and serves as a key advisor to departmental managers on safety performance and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure site‑wide compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, policies, and standards.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Identify areas of concern and recommend corrective actions to responsible managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the completion, review, and quality of risk assessments and safe operating procedures.
- Oversee and track the implementation of risk‑assessment recommendations.
- Monitor adherence to COSHH regulations and ensure documentation is accessible and up to date.
- Identify unsafe working practices or conditions and drive timely corrective action with line managers.
- Conduct regular HSE audits and maintain accurate audit records.
- Ensure machine safety controls (e.g., guarding, interlocks) are implemented and compliant.
- Verify compliance of all new equipment with UKCA/CE marking and relevant standards.
- Lead safety induction training and advise managers on ongoing safety training needs.
- Chair monthly safety committee meetings and participate in quarterly reviews.
- Liaise with external agencies such as the HSE and represent the company at external meetings.
- Ensure compliance with REACH and environmental regulations.
- Manage the company’s Carbon Trust and environmental improvement obligations.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
Essential
- NEBOSH diploma or equivalent (British Safety Council Diploma or NVQ 4 in Occupational Health & Safety)
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Previous proven experience in a similar role
Desirable

- Industry recognized degree in Engineering or equivalent
